Looking to reach out to brands but don’t know where to start…. Here is the guide for you!

Okay influencers listen up!

Are you wanting to work with more brands and have only got collaborations so far when they have slid into your inbox? Well, it's time to stop sitting around and make it happen. Here is your go to guide to get yourself out there and get pitching to make your dream collaboration happen!

Sounds great but where do you start?

The best place to start is to first create yourself a media kit!

You can find some simple templates on Canva to use as a guide on your layout and get your aesthetic looking perfect, but it’s what’s inside that counts the most!  Your media kit should include information about who you are/ your niche and brand, along with some statistics on your audience insights and engagements- you can also include successful previous collaborations you had done with other brands. The idea is that the brand will be able to get a feel for who you are and can see how you will help their business, ensuring your audiences and niche align well!

You should then look at putting together an email template which can be adjusted for each brand and should be kept brief, 2-3 paragraphs should be enough!

 Inside you should include:

  • A brief introduction about yourself

  • Why you love their brand/ believe a collaboration with you is the right choice

  • Your pitch idea… what collaboration do you have in mind (be specific)?

  • And of course, your media kit!

Okay so now you’ve got all of this information put together it’s time to get sending out those pitches! But who is the best person to contact and how do you find them? (And no, you should not be emailing customer support as it is likely you won’t get a response).

You need to be specific with who you are emailing. Nowadays a lot of brands have an email in their socials bio for influencers to reach out to for collaborations, or even a direct link on their website, so be sure to check there first!

When this is not an option, you can look for the right person through platforms such as Linkedin to find the direct influencer marketing outreach coordinator or similar marketing professional within a company and source their email there. When this does not work out, you can always reach someone from their marketing team via dms to ask for the best point of contact.

So what are you waiting for? Get pitching and make those dream collaborations happen!
